All in a days work! The above eight photographs show the rebuilding of Winterbrook Lane Farm Crossing on 19th March 2006.

1. The old Crossing, in need of replacement due to rotten timbers. The earth is scraped away from the rails.
2. In comes the machinery and the men in the foreground seem to be diving for cover!
3. The rails have been removed and the spoil is dug out.
4. A big hole- the train is on the wrong side of it, so the track needs to go back if we are to get home!
5. New sleepers are laid.
6. The rail is fixed back into the chairs, and the whole lot is levelled- simple!
7. Ballast is filled in between the sleepers and crossing timbers fitted.
8. The finished product. 15 people's labour for one day and a lot of aching bones!
